Our School Houses

At Dargaville Intermediate School, every student belongs to one of our four houses: Miro (blue), Kōwhai (yellow), Rātā (red) or Tōtara (green).

Our house system promotes a strong sense of belonging, teamwork and school pride. Students earn points through active participation, positive contributions and by demonstrating our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Resilience and Collaboration.

Throughout the year, students have opportunities to represent their houses through a range of sporting, cultural and school-wide activities. The house system encourages healthy competition, collaboration and connections across year levels, while celebrating individual and collective achievements.

Through our house system, we aim to foster a positive school culture where every student feels valued, connected and proud to be part of Dargaville Intermediate School.
